COACHING STAFF UPDATE

Apr 12, 2024

The Calgary Surge were notified this week that Coach Nelson Terroba has resigned to pursue a coaching opportunity in his home state of Texas.

During his tenure as head coach throughout the Surge’s inaugural season, Coach Terroba led the team to a 12-8 record, a first-place finish in the 2023 CEBL Western Conference, and a 2023 CEBL Championship Final appearance.

“Nelson played a pivotal role in the success of our first season. While this is a bittersweet moment for our organization, we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in this next chapter of his career,” says General Manager Shane James.

The organization wishes Coach Terroba nothing but the best as he takes on this new endeavour. It has been incredibly special to work with him and we are grateful for all of his contributions to the Surge and to the Calgary community.

The Calgary Surge will be announcing their new head coach shortly.
