ANNOUNCING THE HOME TEAM TOUR // DECEMBER 2022

We want the Surge to become the “Home Team” for Calgary.

A team that’s welcoming, inspiring, and committed to winning for Calgarians.

Throughout December we are doing the one thing every new pro sports team pledges to fans but rarely follows through on – listening.

The Home Team Tour is our first opportunity to meet Calgarians in the community who are passionate about basketball.

Four events, one in each corner of the city, led by a diverse group of partners including schools, faith communities, and community basketball organizations.

If you are eager to learn more about Calgary’s professional basketball team, want to share your thoughts with us about your ideal gameday experience, ask questions, or purchase merchandise – join us!

EVENT DETAILS

SOUTHWEST: December 2nd & 3rd, Kris Kringle Basketball Tournament

(hosted by Calgary Catholic School District)

What: Junior boys basketball tournament.

Location: St. Mary’s High School, 111 18 Ave SW, Calgary, AB, T2S 0B8

Time: Open to the public after 3:10 p.m. on Friday, December 2nd.

Say hello to our Front Office from 3:10 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Surge merchandise

will be available on-site for purchase.

NORTHEAST: December 3rd, Hoops for Hope Wheelchair Basketball

(hosted by Islamic Relief Canada & Akram Jomaa)

What: Special event commemorating International Day of Persons with Disabilities through participating in adapted wheelchair basketball.

Location: Genesis Centre (Feature Gym), 7555 Falconridge Blvd NE #10, Calgary, AB, T3J 0C9

Time: Registration opens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd.

NORTHWEST: December 16th 17th & 18th, 3v3 Winter Classic (hosted by

Calgary Minor Basketball Association & University of Calgary Dinos Basketball)

What: First annual Dinos Basketball 3v3 Winter Classic Tournament for girls and

boys (U13 and U15)

Location: University of Calgary (Jack Simpson Gym), 2500 University Drive NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1N4

Time: Event open to registrants only

SOUTHEAST: December 16th & 17th, Legends Girls Basketball Tournament

(hosted by Calgary Catholic School District)

What: Senior girls basketball tournament

Location: All Saints High School, 729 Legacy Village Road SE, Calgary, AB, T2X 4K9

Time: December 16th : 2:30 PM-7:30 PM and December 17th : 8:15 AM-6:30 PM
