CALGARY SURGE ANNOUNCE 2025 SEASON SCHEDULE
DEC 4 – Following the Surge’s ‘ENCORE’ second season that saw them set the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s (CEBL) single-game attendance record and make a second-straight Championship Weekend appearance, the Surge are back for a ‘TRILOGY.’
Billed as a ‘Season in 3 Acts,’ Surge home games will be incorporating enhanced storytelling and deeper collaboration with the arts community, aimed at solidifying the club’s fast-growing reputation as one of the most exciting live event offerings in Western Canada.
“Surpassing the on-court and off-court successes we have experienced these past two seasons will undoubtedly be a tough act to follow,” said Jason Ribeiro, Vice-Chairman & President of the Calgary Surge. “Our entire organization has committed to raising the bar in service of our ultimate quest to raise a Championship banner.”
On the court, the Surge will once again tip off the entire CEBL season, this time on the road, with a rematch of the Battle of Alberta on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Edmonton EXPO Centre. Fans can expect three exciting matchups between the teams that will keep the rivalry alive. The Surge are 7-3 all-time against the Stingers and for two straight seasons, Calgary has eliminated Edmonton from the playoffs to book their trip to Championship Weekend.
The 2025 regular season schedule consists of 24 games (up from 20 last year), 12 home games, and 12 away games from May 11, 2025, to August 10, 2025. There will be at least one home and away matchup between all teams in 2025. The regular season will be followed by playoffs, culminating with the 2025 Championship Weekend (CW25) hosted in Winnipeg this year from August 21, 2025, to August 24, 2025.
An improved format has delivered the most fan-friendly schedule to date, with all Surge home games adequately spaced out and falling on either Thursday (25%) or Friday (25%) evenings or Sunday afternoons (50%) at WinSport Event Centre. For the complete 2025 schedule, visit
