This is your shot. The Calgary Surge are hosting One Shot: Talent Identification Camps in Calgary, AB, and Toronto, ON—your chance to showcase your skills in front of Surge General Manager Shane James.

One standout player from either camp will earn an invitation to Calgary for training camp, competing for a final spot on the Surge’s 2025 CEBL roster.
All participants must complete an application on the Calgary Surge website and submit the required forms along with a non-refundable registration fee.

Calgary Surge Talent Identification Camp – Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility
1.1. Participants must be at least 18 years old by the date of the camp.
1.2. All participants must complete and submit the required forms, including:
Health Information Authorization Form
Release and Eligibility Form
1.3. All participants must provide proof of valid health insurance prior to participation.
2. Registration & Payment
2.1. Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of full payment.
2.2. Early Bird Registration Fee: $200 CAD (Deadline: February 22, 2025)
2.3. Late/Day-of Registration Fee: $250 CAD
2.4. Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to injury, scheduling conflicts, or travel restrictions.
3. Health & Liability Waiver
3.1. Participants acknowledge that basketball is a physically demanding sport and assume all risks related to participation.
3.2. The Calgary Surge, its staff,
representatives, and affiliates are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or any related medical expenses incurred during the event.
3.3. Participants must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions and provide emergency contact information.
3.4. The Calgary Surge reserves the right to deny participation to any individual deemed medically unfit.
4. Selection Process & Training Camp Invitation
4.1. The Calgary Surge General Manager, along with team personnel, will evaluate all participants.
4.2. Selection decisions are final and non-contestable.
4.3. One (1) standout player from either camp (Toronto & Calgary) will receive an invitation to join the Calgary Surge training camp.
5. Training Camp & Associated Costs
5.1. The Calgary Surge will provide the selected player with:
Housing during the training camp window (April 30 - May 5, 2025).
Meals for the duration of training camp.
Shuttle service to and from training camp facilities.
5.2. The selected player is responsible for their own transportation to and from Calgary for training camp.
5.3. The invitation does not guarantee a roster spot on the final 2025 CEBL team.
6. Code of Conduct
6.1. Participants must conduct themselves professionally at all times, both on and off the court.
6.2. Any behavior deemed inappropriate, including but not limited to fighting, harassment, or unsportsmanlike conduct, may result in immediate disqualification from the camp without refund.
6.3. Alcohol, drugs, or performance-enhancing substances are strictly prohibited.
7. Media & Promotional Rights
7.1. By registering, participants grant the Calgary Surge and its affiliates the unlimited right to use their name, likeness, and performance in any promotional materials, including but not limited to photography, video, and social media.
7.2. The Calgary Surge reserves the right to stream, record, and distribute footage from the camp for commercial and promotional purposes.
8. Event Changes & Cancellations
8.1. The Calgary Surge reserves the right to change the date, time, or location of the camp due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., facility availability, weather conditions).
8.2. In the event of a camp cancellation, registered participants will receive credit toward a future tryout, but no refunds will be issued.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
9.1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
9.2. Any disputes or claims related to participation must be resolved through arbitration in Calgary, AB.
By registering for the One Shot: Calgary Surge Talent Identification Camp, participants acknowledge and agree to all terms and conditions outlined above.
